In a collaborative study conducted under the NIG-JOINT program, Yuka Sakuma (Tohoku University) and Kazunori Yamamoto (Kanagawa Institute of Technology, now Hokkaido University) visited our laboratory and successfully measured the viscosity of the plasma membrane in C. elegans embryos. Saya Ichihara constructed a nematode strain that enabled viscosity measurement within the cytoplasm.
