As a Graduate Student
You can conduct research in the Cell Architecture Laboratory as a graduate student of the Genetics Course, SOKENDAI (The Graduate University for Advanced Studies).→Details
The Department of Genetics offers a Research Assistant (RA) program for graduate students based at the National Institute of Genetics (NIG). The annual stipend is 715,000 JPY for the first two years of the 5-year PhD program, and 780,000 JPY for the third year and beyond (except for JSPS Fellows and MEXT Scholarship students).→Student Support at the Department of Genetics
RA students are also eligible to stay in the NIG dormitory. → NIG Dormitory
There is also a Visiting Graduate Student system that allows students from other universities to conduct research at NIG.
As a Postdoctoral Fellow
We always welcome postdoctoral researchers who join the lab as JSPS Research Fellows or through other fellowship programs.
NIG also offers a three-year postdoctoral fellowship (NIG Postdoc), which is open for applications once a year.

Access
The nearest station to NIG is Mishima Station (JR Tokaido Shinkansen, JR Tokaido Line, and Izuhakone Railway).
The Cell Architecture Laboratory is located on the 3rd floor (Rooms A321/323) of the Main Building.
*A free shuttle bus runs between Mishima Station and NIG on weekdays.
